    A Free Man of Color

    by John Guare

    directed by Douglas C. Wager

Lothario and libertine Jacques Cornet revel in the wealth and women of progressive and hedonistic turn-of-the-19th-Century New Orleans; but his profligate way of life is about to be challenged by the slippery, subversive politics of the new Louisiana Purchase. This satirical drama by the award-winning playwright John Guare is a hallucinatory, hilarious and provocative mix of history lesson, Restoration comedy and sex farce.

“One of the most stirring new plays I've seen in seven years of reviewing.” – The Wall Street Journal

Includes adult themes. Recommended for mature audiences.
