21st Annual Underground Railroad Conference

    College of Liberal Arts

    The Department of Africology & African American Studies is excited and honored to invite keynote speaker, Mr. Alvin Pettit, to deliver the keynote address for our 21st Annual Underground Railroad Conference. Mr. Pettit, a renowned sculptor, has won the jury award to design and establish the Harriet Tubman monument for the city of Philadelphia. Mr. Pettit will highlight his inspirational work and discuss legendary heroine Harriet Tubman's sacrifices for Black freedom. 

    The event is open and free to all. Encourage your students, family, and friends to attend.  Do not miss this historic celebration!
