Basic Science: molecular cancer mechanisms & genetic approaches in cancer research
Clinical Science: early detection/screening tools and measures, novel treatment programs and
interventions, disparities in cancer clinical trial participation
Population and Behavioral Science: racial and/or immigrant cancer health disparities, social
determinants of health, behavioral, and community-based participatory, population-based cancer
prevention programs
Research areas of priority include, but are not limited to:
The Synergistic Partnership for Enhancing Equity in Cancer Health (SPEECH), a NIH funded regional
comprehensive cancer health disparities partnership between Temple University/Fox Chase Cancer Center and
Hunter College (TUFCCC/HC). We invite students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty to submit abstracts
for poster presentation. The purpose of this conference is to promote the advancement of research in cancer
health disparities.
We are currently seeking abstracts that highlight and advance the field of cancer from all areas of
research including basic, clinical, and population-based. Students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior
faculty are all encouraged to submit their work.
