In 2023, visitors will have two opportunities to explore the Ambler Arboretum with Director Kathy Salisbury each season.
Salisbury will be guiding new Horticulture Hikes, horticulture intensive tours held in partnership Tyler School of Art and Architecture Greenhouse Education and Research Complex Manager Benjamin Snyder, and Seasonal Director Walks in the winter, spring, summer and fall. Learn more.
An Autumn Horticulture Hike will be held on Friday, October 27.
Horticulture hikes are horticulture intensive tours with Arboretum Director Kathy Salisbury and Tyler School of Art and Architecture Greenhouse Education and Research Complex Manager Benjamin Snyder. A theme will be chosen each month. Participants will explore plant identification, use and culture, and more. Think scientific names, distinctive traits, phenology, seasonal interest, distinguishing look alike plants and practicing using various resources for identification.
All tours will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. and start at the Flagpole Circle in front of Bright Hall. These walk and talks are free, but registration is required. Register for the Horticulture Hikes and Seasonal Director Walks online.
The hikes and walks will run rain or shine (cancelled during thunderstorms and extremely snowy weather). Use your discretion.
