Landscape professionals are invited to join the PennState Extension and learn the fundamentals of pruning shrubs and small trees in the landscape during an in-person event at the Ambler Arboretum on Thursday, March 30, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Ambler Arboretum Director Kathy Salisbury will teach a portion of the hands-on experiences of the program designed for arborists, landscape professionals and grounds managers.
Pruning for Professionals is geared toward landscape professionals who care for a variety of plants in the landscapes they manage. Learn how to maintain healthy trees and shrubs through proper pruning techniques.
We will start in the classroom with an introduction to plant structure and growth as it relates to pruning, proper use of tools, and safety. Different pruning techniques will be defined and discussed. We will then head outdoors after lunch for a hands-on pruning experience.
