There are approximately 500 species of Oaks (Quercus) in the world and sixteen are native to Pennsylvania. In this interactive program we will start indoors with a brief introduction to Oaks and Oak identification as well as some resources available to help with field identification. We will then head outdoors into the Arboretum gardens to learn how to tell 15 types of common oaks apart from each other. We will also discuss where they like to grow and how and why to include them in your own landscape. Register online here.
