All animals and insects, no matter how creepy or crawly, serve an essential purpose in their ecosystems and increase biodiversity!

Celebrate the Halloween season in a different way by learning about the science behind the things that may scare you — skunks, spiders, flies, rotten logs, bats, predatory birds and snakes just to name a few!

The Science of Scary is being held in partnership with the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion and the Barn Nature Center.
