Often maligned as the little brown moths flying things that flutter around your porch lights at night as you trying to get inside, we will encourage visitors to think of moths as the butterflies of the night! We will have bright and black lights, sheets and field guides. You bring a chair, some snacks, some water and lots of enthusiasm and we will see what moths live in the Arboretum and likely visit your home as well!
This program will also include a guided garden walk to talk about plants you can include to attract moths to your garden, look to see what flowers the moths are visiting in the evenings and using a UIV flashlight to find moth caterpillars in the garden. We will additionally learn how we can provide moth habitat.
