The Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OHEDI) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is hosting “An Evening for Black Men in Medicine” for pre-professional and undergraduate black males. During the event, attendees from the greater Philadelphia region, will have the opportunity to meet and connect with one another and with Temple-affiliated black male physicians and medical students.
The purpose of the event is to encourage conversation, connection, and affinity-building among black men in medicine as a means of addressing the long-term, ongoing shortage of black men in medicine. A 2015 report by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) showed that the number of black males applying to medical schools has not increased since 1978.
Pre-registration required.
