The Associated Press Sports Editors’ Northeast Region meeting will take place in Room 200 of the Howard Gittis Student Center at Temple on Monday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free networking opportunity for students, and lunch will be served as well.
APSE is the most important and prestigious sports journalism organization in the country, and the region meeting will feature sports editors, reporters and columnists from Northeast news organizations, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Newsday, Buffalo News, NJ.com, Baltimore Sun Media Group, PennLive.com, CBS Sports, Syracuse.com, MassLive.com, The Associated Press and many more.
While students are welcome to attend any of the sessions, the two periods most intended for them are the lunch and networking from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Career Development and Resume Review session from 3-4 p.m. The first 12 students to submit their resume and writing samples will receive feedback from APSE Northeast Region Chair Jim Pignatiello, who is also the Deputy Editor in charge of Sports and Audience Development at MassLive. Please send your materials to Jim at jpignati@masslive.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
