ArcGIS: Mapping Biographies and Histories

    Temple University Libraries

This workshop is designed for those interested in the application of digital cartography in academic research. Participants will explore the capabilities of ArcGIS for visualizing historical and biographical data through the creation of interactive maps. The session will provide instruction on integrating geographical and temporal dimensions, transforming raw data into visual narratives.

Ideal for students in art history, history, geography, and related fields, this workshop offers hands-on experience with GIS technology to enhance research and digital visualization skills. No experience necessary; students of any level are encouraged to participate.

The workshop will be led by Jessica Braum, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Art History and an LCDSS extern, whose research focuses on transnational feminism and the art of Southeast and East Asia.

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop to receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use the link to join the session.

Contact Alex Wermer-Colan at alex.wermer-colan@temple.edu with any questions.
