    A Long Separation

People divided from family in North Korea since the Korean War

    오랜 이별 - 이산가족

Join us for a interactive photo exhibit of people divided from family in North Korea since the Korean War on view at Paley Library from January 7 through February 28, 2019. Each portrait is paired with a phone number you can call to hear their stories. We are also pleased to welcome project director and photographer Laura Elizabeth Pohl to Paley Library on February 7th to discuss her work. Learn more about this project at alongseparation.com

About the artist: Laura Elizabeth Pohl is a photographer and filmmaker based in Baltimore. Raised around the world as an Army brat, she began her career as a reporter before switching to photography and filmmaking. Laura’s photographs and short films have been honored by FotoWeekDC and the United Nations Association Film Festival, among others. This exhibition is rooted in her deep interest in her family’s personal connection to the Korean War and North Korea.
