Beyond the Notes: The Nutcracker and the Elephant King

    Temple University Libraries
    Hannah Han portraits

Join us for a whimsical hour of musical storytelling and wonder with Francis Poulenc’s The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant and Peter Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker! Boyer graduate student Hannah Han will enchant the audience with Poulenc’s solo piano rendition of Jean de Brunhoff’s charming tale of Babar, King of the Elephants. Then ring in the holiday season early with excerpts from The Nutcracker, featuring Boyer student dancers Yihang Li and Lian Long Xuan and new choreography by alumna Ziying Cui. Don’t forget to bring your inner child along!

    Piano/narrator: Hannah Han (MA ‘22, DMA ‘26)

    Choreographer: Ziying Cui (PhD ‘23)

Dancers: Yihang Li (MFA ‘26) and Lian Long Xuan (BFA ‘27)

Light refreshments served. Boyer recital credit given.
