Black in America: The Trauma of Anti-Blackness

Institutional Diversity, Equity, Advocacy and Leadership (IDEAL)

Juneteenth marked the end of slavery for African Americans; however, the trauma, fear, and pain on black identity lasted beyond this date. 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Massacre. This incident is a real-life example of how racial trauma has been attributed to Black identity.

Recent debates have been raised to restrict having conversations about how racialized trauma and fear are triggered through larger systemic issues. Join us for an interactive dialogue on how these conversations foster a necessary change while honoring the spirit of Juneteenth!
