Presented as part of the College's Summer Webinar Series
Dr. Parsaoran Hutapea will share his journey from an undergraduate student to an academic. He will discuss how he pursued his “dream” to be an aerospace engineer by earning Aerospace Engineering degrees, starting with a bachelor and then completing his MS and PhD degrees studying composite materials for spacecraft applications. Later in life, he learned the hard way that (aerospace) Mechanics and Medical Sciences have many significant overlaps. He will talk about some aspects of Mechanics and how they relate to Medical Sciences. Finally, he will present a proposal on how we as engineers MUST contribute to solve today’s major challenges in medicine.
