Addressing and referring students in distress or challenging students is often difficult. This training provides you with techniques on how to approach and refer a student you may be concerned about or challenged by. Additionally, we review campus resources and share with you the Student Safety Nest, a guide to helping students in distress—which provides suggestions on how to manage specific situations of student concern. By the end of this training, you will have strategies to better manage the time and energy spent on supporting students and the types of support provided, by being able to recognize students’ readiness for change and supporting their self-efficacy to take ownership over their academic and personal lives.
