The Building the 21st Century Library symposium series brings to light the design process for our new Charles Library and gives the Temple community a chance to engage in dialogue with the planners, designers, and experts as the design and building processes are taking place.
This session will explore Charles Library’s potential to transform Temple University’s main campus, from the building’s impact to the relationship between the university and its neighbors to the university’s vision of sustainability. We will also consider what steps have been—or could be—taken to make the building more accessible to the campus and surrounding communities and what opportunities the new building presents to project Temple’s identity and values.
The conversation will be moderated by Kevin Delaney, vice provost, Faculty Affairs, Temple University. Panelists include:
Karen Blanchard, president, American Institute of Architects Philadelphia Chapter
Dozie Ibeh, associate vice president, Project Delivery Group, Temple University
Anne Krakow, director, Post Learning Commons and Drexel Library, Saint Joseph's University
Siobhan Reardon, president and director, the Free Library of Philadelphia
