Building Trauma-informed Technologies for Survivors of Harm Using Collaboration & Mutuality

    College of Public Health

This seminar will feature Executive Director Kyle Linton, Chief Technology Officer Brendan Michaelson, and Director of Research and Evaluation Laura Sinko discussing the development of Our Wave, a trauma-informed technology tool designed to support survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The speakers will share insights into the collaborative process behind the creation of Our Wave, emphasizing the importance of mutuality and partnership with survivors and other non-profit organizations. The seminar will explore how the platform allows survivors to anonymously share stories, ask questions, and connect with resources while fostering a sense of community and empowerment. Attendees will learn about the intersection of technology and trauma-informed care, considerations for building trauma-informed technologies, and the potential for innovative solutions to support survivors of trauma on their healing journeys.
