Calming the Conflicts: Understanding, Managing and Navigating Conflict

Klein College of Media and Communication

As a result of the past election, racial reckoning and coronavirus pandemic, all of us have had to navigate a new reality that is often marked by episodes of anxiety, stress and unexpected conflict. With the holiday season upon us, many of those feelings get amplified as we encounter situations that trigger reactions and responses that make balancing all our life demands that much more challenging.

To help others mediate these difficult situations, join a moderated panel featuring Dr. Tricia S. Jones and Dr. Deborah Cai—two of Klein's internationally renowned experts in conflict management - and David Brown, professor of public relations and diversity advisor to the dean.

During this one-hour workshop, participants will:

    • Learn to better understand conflict
    • Be introduced to the best conflict management tools and practices
    • Obtain new strategies to navigate conflict.
