This semester TLC’s long running series “Can We Talk? Teaching Race and Diversity” continues to focus on the book, "Race Talk and the Conspiracy of Silence: Understanding and Facilitating Difficult Dialogues on Race."
In this text, author Derald Wing Sue – an internationally recognized expert on multiculturalism, diversity, and microaggressions – provides a guide to facilitating and participating in dialogues about race in the college classroom. Participants will discuss ways to build rapport with students, the importance of difficult discussions, and the hidden "ground rules" that often inhibit honest and productive dialogue.
Participants are welcome to attend all or one session, however if you register and attend all three sessions, TLC will provide you with a copy of the book for free!
