Please join CENFAD for a lecture and question-and-answer session with Robert Karl, Associate Professor of Arts & Humanities, Minerva Schools at Keck Graduate Institute and CENFAD's non-resident fellow. Dr. Karl is an expert on Latin America/Caribbean history and contemporary affairs. He is the author of Forgotten Peace: Reform, Violence, and the Making of Contemporary Colombia (Univ. of California Press, 2017), and is currently researching the history of impunity in modern Colombia. In addition to his scholarly work, he has served as an expert country-conditions witness in the cases of more than two dozen Colombian asylum seekers, and as a Senior Advisor to the Princeton Asylum Project. He was previously Assistant Professor of History at Princeton University (2010–19) and Member at the Institute for Advanced Study, School of Social Science (2019–20).
