Community Sing with Alice Parker

Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts

Here’s a chance to join your voice with others’ under the guidance of one of the most celebrated and visionary figures in the world of choral music and group singing. Alice Parker is here in Philadelphia to lead a seminar in song-leading, and this is the only public event of her visit.  It will feature her, as well as her students, leading songs that she has chosen for the occasion.

The event is free and open to the public

Alice Parker is a living musical legend whose work as a composer, conductor, author, teacher and song leader has inspired thousands of singers, conductors, church musicians and composers. Her over fifty years' experience in teaching has given her the ability to express her ideas in clear and memorable language.  Her love of poetry and of the lyric line in both words and songs undergirds her understanding.  She has identified techniques that work for composers, performers and teachers, and inspires any group that works with her to become wonderfully musical, expressive and communicative singers.
