Concert/debate on Hip Hop Music and Citizenship Activism with Amir Issaa

    College of Liberal Arts

VIVO PER QUESTO U.S. FALL TOUR

    Speaker: Amir Issaa, Italian-Egyptian rapper/activist

Join us for a concert and Q&A with Italian Hip Hop artist, writer and activist Amir Issaa. In his songs, Issaa engages with such themes as Italy's integration process, and the current debate on citizenship laws. In his single "Foreigner in My Country," Issaa aims at fostering awareness on children who are born in Italy from non-Italian parents, but cannot apply for Italian citizenship until they are 18.

If you have intermediate-level or higher proficiency in Italian, you are welcome to join Amir for a workshop on Hip Hop composition before the concert! The workshop will be held in 914 Gladfelter (Weigley Room) from 2-3pm.
