    An Evening with Nikyatu Jusu (Writer/Director, Nanny)
    Screening and in conversation with Kartik Nair and Elisabeth Subrin, professors of film and media arts

    The Arts Interdisciplinary Initiative (AIR) at the Center for Performing and Cinematic Arts (CPCA) invites you to an evening with Nikyatu Jusu, Writer/Director of Nanny, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

    Join us on Wednesday, 4 October, at 5 pm at Rock Hall Auditorium (1715 N. Broad Street) for a special screening of Nanny, followed by a conversation with Nikyatu Jusu, Elisabeth Subrin (Professor of Film and Media Arts), and Kartik Nair (Assistant Professor of Film and Media Arts). 

    Nikyatu Jusu is an independent writer, director, and Assistant Professor in Film & Video at George Mason University. Her short films have played at festivals nationally and internationally. With her feature film debut, Jusu is the second black woman director and Nanny [2022] is the first horror film to win the Sundance Grand Jury Prize (US Dramatic).

    This event is open to the public and part of AIR.

    Arts Interdisciplinary Research (AIR) is a holistic research center and forum for creative and scholarly research across the arts that includes cutting-edge colloquia, exploratory seminars, lecture demonstrations, launches of research publications and creative works, reading groups, faculty talks, and stand-alone conferences initiated by the faculty of the Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts.
