Female, Queer, and Transgender Pipeline Blockaders: "Queer/Trans Moments of Critical Appalachian Eco-Action"
Tuesday, Sept. 19th @ 12:00 pm
Temple Performing Arts Center 1837 N Broad St Free and open to the public
Recent narrative film and literary works such as “How to Blow up a Pipeline” (Goldhaber, 2022) “The Overstory” (Powers, 2018) and “Night Moves” (Reichardt, 2013) have addressed popular fictionalized versions of eco-activists and activist groups. Chet Pancake will present an alternative ethnographic view of real-life contemporary youth eco-activists blockading in Southwest Virginia on the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
This event is open to the public and part of AIR.
