Since 2012, Charles Ruchalski, clinical professor at Temple University's School of Pharmacy, has led students and fellow faculty members on a Vietnam Pharmacy/Medical Mission program that treats underserved patients who have little to no access to pharmacy and medical services. To date, his teams have treated over 35,000 patients with acute and chronic medical issues and assisted with the fitting of over 5,000 prosthetic limbs to patients suffering post-war injuries, trauma, and complications from chronic disease states. He has generated more than $100,000 for the program and, in 2018, his team was recognized by the Prime Minister of Vietnam with the highest honor given to a non-governmental organization for its charity work efforts in Vietnam.
During this virtual seminar, Dr. Ruchalski will discuss these international missions and his work treating patients with limited access to healthcare.
