The Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical Education High School’s digital media and music programs and Temple University's Klein College of Media and Communication present an intergenerational, interactive gathering of Philadelphia’s next generation of media makers for learning, conversation and connection. The event will feature short presentations, workshops and discussions to amplify students’ voices and highlight their world.
Students from Dobbins High School and Klein will be featured alongside professionals and organizations from across the media and communication field, including a central presentation by Cheldin Barlatt Rumer, CEO and Executive Producer of This is it Network, a global, female- and minority-owned digital TV network.
The Symposium aims to amplify students’ voices and work while providing an engaging and enriching pre-professional experience. It also provides an intimate space for local media leaders to connect with Philadelphia’s next generation of media makers and build community as we create the future together.
The inaugural event will be virtual, but the hope is to set off a recurring tradition and plant the seeds of long-term connections and relationships across disciplines and zip codes.
