Speakers:
Dr. Marsha Levick, Esq. – Juvenile Law Center:
As an advocate for children’s and women’s rights and nationally recognized expert in juvenile law, Dr. Levick oversees the Juvenile Law Center’s litigation and appellate docket where she has successfully challenged unlawful and harmful laws, policies and practices on behalf of children in the juvenile and child welfare systems.
Dr. Caterina Roman – Temple University, Department of Criminal Justice:
A twenty-year veteran of Urban Institute in Washington, D.C., Dr. Roman joined the Temple University Department of Criminal Justice faculty in 2008. Her research investigates neighborhood characteristics, fear, violence, and health; the social networks of high risk and gang youth, and evaluation of innovative violence reduction programs.
Dr. Evan Sorg – Rowan University Department of Law and Justice Studies:
A former New York City Police officer, Dr. Sorg received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Temple University in 2015. He currently researches police innovations, criminology and policing interventions and teaches courses on intelligence-led policing, crime mapping and crime analysis.
