Cultivating Citation Equity in Your Research

    Temple University Libraries

Standard approaches to citation practice often ask us to look to the important and well-cited authors in a field, but this can lead to an unconscious bias in the materials we choose to cite. Citation is power, and cultivating a conscientious citation practice helps to uplift marginalized voices and promote equitable knowledge sharing.

Join us as we discuss steps you can take to cultivate citation equity in your research, from how to be proactive in finding sources and research produced by scholars who are traditionally underrepresented and undercited to auditing your citations and using a citation diversity statement.

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop to receive the Zoom link via a confirmation email. On the day of the workshop, use the link to join the session.

This workshop will be recorded. Register to attend the live session or to receive a copy of the recording.
