Jesus R. Velasco is Professor of Medieval and Early Modern Spanish literature and culture at Yale University. He has also taught at the University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University. He is the author of Order and Chivalry: Knighthood and Citizenship in Late Medieval Castile and Dead Voice: Law, Philosophy, and Fiction in the Iberian Middle Ages (both at University of Pennsylvania Press).
