Many academic searches now require applicants to submit a diversity statement. While diversity statements are an increasingly common job application requirement, they are also an opportunity to reflect on your own ideas about diversity, equity and inclusion and to formulate a personal plan for ensuring your teaching, research, mentoring and service promote a more equitable environment within and beyond academia. In this workshop, you will be introduced to what diversity statements are, reflect on how you understand diversity, equity and inclusion and start drafting components of your statement.
This event is hosted by The Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Temple University and sponsored by The College of Liberal Arts Graduate Affairs. All graduate students at Temple University are welcome to attend.
