Looking to immmerse yourself in nature and destress during midterm season? Grab your boots, field guides, and water bottles and lets get hiking! Join us for an early October hike to the Wissahickon.
We will be taking the Regional Rail up to the Rex Ave trailhead, move south down the orange trail, and finally leave through Carpenter Woods, one of the few old-growth forests here in Philadelphia!
Get ready to learn! We will be hiking with our resident ecologist who loves to talk about trees, wildlife, and climate change. The hike is planned to be about 4 miles and, if we have time, we will get lunch at a Wawa, or similar establishment. We will aim to get back to campus around 3pm. We are meeting outside the Howard Gittis Student Center at 9:20 and boarding the 9:50 train. Please wear appropriate clothes and footwear and be ready to be physically active. Bring water and snacks to keep your energy up.
**We will be providing SEPTA passes for the first 15 registrants. YOU MUST RSVP in order to reserve your spot with the group! ** Reach out to Alejandro Sanoja at alejandro.sanoja@temple.edu with any questions.
