Screening and discussion December 14 at Scribe Video Center.
The Institute on Disabilities presents File/Life, a community-led creative exploration of the Pennhurst archives by seven archivists, all people with disabilities and/or family members, including two former Pennhurst residents. These community archivists share stories that made them listen, feel, imagine, and remember. In doing so, they ask the question: Can a file ever contain a life?
The film, a co-creation between media artist María Teresa Rodríguez and the File/Life team, will be screened at Scribe Video Center in Philadelphia on Saturday, December 14. A discussion with the File/Life collaborators to follow. The film and more will be on view through December 21st.
The film is audio described, open captioned, and ASL interpreted.
