Sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Political Science
The College of Liberal Arts invites Temple University undergraduate students to submit original editorial cartoons and graphic illustrations that confront current political and social issues and hopefully make the reader think of an issue from a new angle and/or laugh a little.
We welcome single panels or sequential art. From hand-drawn to digital art, all styles are welcome. You do NOT need to be an artist to submit a cartoon – all you need to be is witty and politically aware!
Submission requirements: Open to all Temple University undergraduate students.
All work must be submitted digitally via the Submission Form.
Digital work must be at least 300dpi JPEG, 1MB or less. Each student can submit one (1) illustration. You can collaborate with another student and split the prize money. The following information must be included with your submission: Name(s), TUID, Temple email address, and major.
Your cartoon must have a title. You can provide a description, but that is optional.
Deadline: Tuesday, November 29th
1st Prize: $500 | 2nd Prize: $250 | 3rd Prize: $100 | 3 Honorable Mentions: $50
Winning entries will be exhibited in the Mazur Hall Atrium. Please indicate your preference in your submission if you would like your cartoon to be posted anonymously. Take a look at some examples of past winners: Past Winners
