Freed Between the Lines: Banned Books Week

    Temple University Libraries

Banned Books Week, starts on September 22nd, which is an annual American Library Association (ALA) event that celebrates the freedom to read. This year’s theme is: “Freed between the lines.”

Temple Libraries and the Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio are celebrating by hosting a second book-binding event on Monday, September 23 from 11 AM to 2 PM. Join us on the third floor of Charles Library in the Innovation Space, to learn how to bind a book, or create a collage with banned books and other art supplies!

Learn more about why books are challenged and why our freedom to openly access information and literature is so important. Visit the Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio blog about their dive into Banned Books to learn more on this topic.

Please contact Alex Wermer-Colan at alex.wermer-colan@temple.edu with any questions.
