About the Lecture
In this current moment of pandemic, protests, and elections, access to local news is critical for both civic and physical health. But for many historically marginalized communities, local news is either distrusted, in short supply or both. In this talk, Dr. Andrea Wenzel will discuss her new book, Community-Centered Journalism: Engaging People, Exploring Solutions, and Building Trust. In it, she draws from engaged journalism and solutions journalism case studies from around the U.S. to outline a model for building trust between communities and local media.
