Palestine on the Air is a book of interviews originally conducted when Chávez was the host of a live radio show on 89.9 FM WORT in Madison, Wisconsin. The interviews cover an array of issues related to the Palestinian struggle for self determination and liberation, as well as solidarity actions in the United States. In this talk, Chávez talks about the making of this piece of public scholarship while also emphasizing the importance of doing this work related to Palestine.

Karma R. Chávez is Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at the University of Texas - Austin. She is author of Queer Migration Politics: Activist Rhetoric and Coalitional Possibilities (University of Illinois Press, 2013) and Palestine on the Air (University of Illinois Press, 2019).
