About the lecture
The children’s media industry has grown exponentially with the expansion of the internet, social media and streaming services, as seen in the offerings of all the top streaming platforms: Netflix Kids, YouTube Kids, Hulu Kids, Amazon Kids, Discovery Kids and more. Platforms such as TikTok, Twitch and Roblox recognize children and youth as the core of their audience. During the past year, Professor Hope Culver interviewed over 50 producers, writers, CEOs, development executives and programming executives leading the children’s media industry in Brazil, England, Australia and the United States. Combining their advice, she developed guidelines for the field when aiming to create quality media content for children and youth.
