About the Lecture
Laura Zaylea will discuss the process of writing and producing Stori Strong, a four-episode web series designed for children with LGBTQ+ parents. The series follows the story of a young girl with two moms. Zaylea will explain how and why the project was designed to highlight family diversity and foster age-appropriate conversations about donor-conceived identity.
About Laura Zaylea
Laura Zaylea is a media artist and associate professor of instruction in Media Studies and Production at Klein College of Media and Communication.
Her creative media work has been exhibited at the University Film and Video Association New Media Gallery, Electronic Literature Organization Media Arts Festival, &Now Festival of New Writing, Nouspace Gallery, and Aggregate Space Gallery, and screened at the Halifax International Film Festival, Frameline International Film Festival, Echo Park Film Center, Toronto Urban Film Festival and Northampton Film Festival.
