About the Speaker 

Aaron Javsicas is Editor-in-Chief at Temple University Press, where he supervises the work of the editorial department and acquires books in urban studies, politics, and the Philadelphia region. A native Philadelphian, Aaron has been in book publishing for two decades, first in New York City (for W.W. Norton and Palgrave Macmillan) before returning to Philadelphia to join Temple in fall 2013.  

Mary Rose Muccie has worked in scholarly publishing for over 30 years and has been Director of Temple University Press and Scholarly Communications Officer in Temple Libraries since June 2014. Her experience includes serving as founding Director of the JSTOR Current Scholarship Program, Director of Project MUSE, and Publisher at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.  At Temple she oversees the Press’s publishing program, which produces 45 to 50 books annually as well as two journals, and helped launch robust open-access publishing services within the Libraries.
