Scholarly journals are increasingly requiring visual abstracts to supplement published articles. These infographics can also be used to promote your research on social media, at conferences, and more. Attendees at this workshop will learn the components of a visual abstract, as well as benefits and drawbacks. We will go over the process to create your own visual abstract and tools to use, focusing on the free resource Canva. We will cover basic recommendations in graphic design so that your visual abstract is appealing.

It is recommended that you sign up for a free Canva account prior to this workshop, if you wish to follow along during the presentation.

This workshop will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link for the workshop. On the day of the workshop, participants should log into their temple.zoom.us accounts in order to skip the waiting room. If participants are not Temple affiliates, they should use their first and last names in order to be admitted to the session. Participants do not need a video camera or a microphone, but will need an audio connection to hear the instructor.
