The Tyler School of Art and Architecture in conjunction with Temple University Office of Sustainability presents s lecture from the 2023 Graduate Research Award in Sustainability awardee, John Erwin Dillard. the Graduate Research Award for Sustainability Program (GRASP) advances the university’s goal of expanding sustainability research by providing funding to graduate student research projects focused on sustainability.
John Erwin Dillard (he/him) is a second year MFA candidate in the Tyler School of Art and Architecture Glass Program. His lecture Eating the World but Saving Some for Later presents the findings of the 2023 GRASP award. Dillard weaves together narratives of creative practice, economic power, and sustainability. Ultimately detailing the progress of the Tyler Glass Program’s waste recovery system. A newly implemented system of diverting glass out of the waste stream and converting it into studio quality colored glass.
