Power is embedded in both written and visual narratives, often reinforcing stereotypes, or raising critical questions about the way we portray relationships among humans and the environment. In this talk, Claudia Zamora-Valencia will discuss how she has navigated power dynamics in her work as a filmmaker, community organizer, and researcher, and what strengths and challenges she has faced in experimenting with speculative narratives, re-enactment, and participatory processes to address issues on immigration and precarious work in New York City.
Speakers:
- Claudia Zamora-Valencia (PhD Student in Anthropology)
- Dr. Jennifer Lee (Associate Professor of Law, Director of the Social Justice Lawyering Clinic at the Sheller Center for Social Justice)
