The Independence through Community Access and Navigation (ICAN) intervention is a supported leisure intervention based on the Individualized Placement and Supports model that utilizes motivational interviewing to promote independent engagement in the community. This intervention promotes the development of coping skills, executive functioning, perception of self, and increased physical activity engagement.
