Do you like data? Do you like good looking graphs? Do you like presenting information in eye-catching ways? If you answered yes to any of thsoe, you might be interested in learning more about data visualization. In this hands-on workshop, Research and Data Services Librarian Will Dean will show you how to take a humble dataset and present it in a variety of colorful, informative, and interactive visualizations. We will explore the features of free software programs Tableau and Gephi, and discuss other tools. Participants are encouraged to bring a dataset they are working on or ideas for visualization projects.
