Join students, faculty, staff, alumni and honored guests of the School of Media and Communication as we celebrate the launch of The Steve Charles Chair in Media, Cities and Solutions.

This is SMC's first donor-endowed academic chair and is supported by an historic gift to the school by Mr. Charles, SMC '80. Housed in the Department of Journalism, the chair will be focused on developing and teaching a curriculum of solutions-based journalism and other forms of media, with an eye toward measurable effects on the challenges of urban life today.

The program will include remarks by Temple University President Neil D. Theobald, Provost Hai-Lung Dai, SMC Dean David Boardman and Steve Charles, SMC '80, and will feature special guest speaker David Bornstein, co-founder of The Solutions Journalism Network.
