Venerable Miao Guang, Deputy Chancellor (Fo Guang Shan Institute of Humanistic Buddhism)

This talk will explore how Buddhist principles of compassion and tolerance can guide us through socio-political unrest. We will discuss practical teachings for cultivating inner peace and resilience and learn how Buddhist organizations in Taiwan, operating in a polarized political atmosphere, promote “Humanistic Buddhism.” Insights will include historical contexts and methods developed by Foguang Shan and others to foster harmony and positive change amid challenges, illustrating how to engage socially without succumbing to negative emotions.
