Pine (Dan) Wu will be joining us from Kawanishi (a city just outside of Osaka), where he is in his third year as an English-language instructor in the Japanese-government sponsored Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) program. Currently teaching in an elementary school, Dan has just accepted a promotion to the position of Coordinator for International Relations for the JET program in Kawanishi City, a job he will start this coming summer. A 2017 College of Liberal Arts graduate with a major in Asian Studies and a minor in History, Dan came to Temple from Marple Newtown Senior High School in Newtown Square, Pa. He began studying Japanese as a Temple sophomore and spent a semester studying abroad at Temple’s campus in Tokyo. Dan will share with us experiences he has had and his perspectives on living and teaching in Japan—both in pre-pandemic and, now, in pandemic times. Come join us!
