Moore will read from her celebrated novel Long Bright River(link to https://news.temple.edu/news/2020-01-23/professor-s-novel-garners-nation...)--telling the story of two inseparable sisters suddenly at odds in a Philadelphia neighborhood rocked by the opioid crisis. In conversation with essayist and CLA alumnus Lucas Iberico Lozada (link to https://www.lucasibericolozada.com/) (MFA ‘19), Moore will discuss her book, which has been named A Good Morning America Book Club Pick, her process, writing in quarantine, and more.
Moore’s previous novels include The Words of Every Song, and Heft, and her short fiction and creative nonfiction have been published in venues such as The New York Times, Tin House, and Narrative Magazine. She is the recipient of the 2014 Rome Prize in Literature. Iberico Lozada’s essays and reporting have recently appeared in The Nation, Vanity Fair, Dissent, Words Without Borders, and Popula. He has been awarded fellowships by Yale, Temple University, and the Millay Colony for the Arts.
