Data often needs interpretation for it to have a cultural value. Although data visualization is a common way of interpretation, sonification is one of the new methods for perceiving patterns in data. Learn how data can be represented using sound and how to turn your own data into something creative and new.

Mina Zarfsaz is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and system thinker who works across the fields of art, technology, philosophy, architecture and design. Her work has been shown in galleries internationally and across New York, Philadelphia and other cities in the USA. She has been awarded Leeway Art and Change grant (2017) and granted residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Icebox Project Space, Asian Arts Initiative and most recently at the University City Science Center. Zarfsaz is currently she is working on a book on Enactive Perception called "Not X-Small, not X Large, but X-Medium.”  Zarfsaz currently lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and holds teaching appointments at Temple University and Rowan University.
